technical complications

I've come across certain complications during this blog's career. Is it dead? No, but my computer is. Unfortunately my computer was viciously attacked by a bottle of water. Yes it won't turn on. I'm waiting for some miracle to turn up. I'm at a friend's house posting this, so now I present to you any random pictures on her computer. It should be easy on the eyes ;). She takes most of these pictures.

Wish me luck with this computer. I'm planning a review in the upcoming future. Thanks for reading.

If you dont know now you know...

To all the fans of hip hop in its essence and realness, be still. So I'm going to update on what's been going on in the headlines lately. So I know everyone heard the grammy nominated nursery rhyme that we call "crank dat". Soulja boy is readying himself up for his next album. Not too sure when it drops but he stated in an interview that he was prepared for the release. The next album is said to be more "animated" then the last. In other words, probably 12 tracks about how he's rich now and he got himself some YUMS.

Does anyone care yet?

No? Well..how about platinum selling artist, Lil Wayne? Who won an award for best lyricist I believe over Nas and Lupe Fiasco at the BET AWARDS. WHEEW! That was a crucial blow to me. But, have you heard that today he had his first son? yup, daddy wayne announced his first son, Dwayne Carter III was born today.

how about now? anybody?

well with that out of the way, to all my graff heads.

ODU

Sometimes you have those days after a long day of travels and work/play, and you just want to sleep. It's harder than I thought managing a blog.ODU session was great, nice to see familiar faces. I'm not really keeping up with the politics but from certain highlights, Obama seems to be smoking Mccain, yeah? To all my politic heads out there, give me some input on this, I really want to write about that man. Update will shortly come, stay tune, stay sexy.

AND, as for my bboyin game, time to step it up!

Neyo on Yung Berg

When asked if he could "3 finger slap" any artist in the game right now. Well renowned singer/songwriter, Neyo, immediately responded to the question with "Yung Berg". Neyo states "I can't respect anyone who's not trying to do anything original. That song he has out, 'The Bizness,' it's very much like what Lil Wayne is doing, and what T-Pain is doing right now," Let me take this time out to say, THANK YOU! When I first heard ''the bizness'', I could've sworn it was Wayne.(yes I did ask everyone) Then he takes the time out to address Chris Brown. Check this, Neyo straight up says that Chris Brown stinks! (pun intended) He told interviwers "Chris gave me a hug and he was musty," he said "yeah, I let him know right away and he was like ' my bad ' ." I'm not so sure about the Chris Brown thing. But Neyo definitely spitting some truth right there.

Jum .

I recall when a friend showed me of an artist named Daisuke Yamamoto. The video of a week's worth of paintings condensed into a sped video of 5 minutes was worth the 30 mb of his work onto my video ipod. (along with some of his featured Nujabes tracks). This video definitely brings back more artsy memories of my life. It's amazing the way the canvases flow in and out. Definitely has to be abstract at its best!

Yamamoto is a member of a group called "Rinpa Eshidan". The group produces art a lot like this video. Synchronized and orchestrated live canvases. They do shows and live events where they reside in Japan. http://rinpaeshidan.jp/ The site is english friendly, check them out.

Breaking the ice

"It's like a jungle sometimes,
It makes me wonder,
How I keep from going under..."

I'll start off with a quote from a more nostalgic form of hip hop. Allow me to introduce myself as, Panana Gold. I am an extreme enthusiast of the culture of hip hop and all of its elements. I am interested especially in graffiti art and bboying. This blog is for entertainment, news, opinionated articles pertaining (but not limited) to urban cultures, music, and arts. The world we are currently living in is growing at remarkable rates. From music we listen to, to the people we see, the world is evolving. Lately, I've seen people of different trends clashing and integrating. Stereotypes are no longer limited to fashion anymore. It is now okay to shop places without being stared down awkwardly. Being an outgoing person, I get to observe all these trends or habitual acts amongst people everyday. This entry is just an intro to my everyday thoughts or ideas. My project could easily be aborted and sent to the void of space, but lets hope for the best. ;)

We woke up this morning and our president was black. Definitely history in the making. This man's speeches have inspired many in way similar to the renegades to make this happen.

Huey P. Newton
Malcom X
Martin Luther King Jr.

"The hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA;
we will remember that there is something happening in America;
that we are not as divided as our politics suggests;
that we are one people;
we are one nation;
and together, we will begin the next great chapter in America’s story with three words that will ring from coast to coast;
from sea to shining sea - Yes. We. Can."

Please Mr. President, change America.
